Our Founder
Josh Newton — “The Deer Wizard”
Josh Newton, widely known throughout the cervid industry as “The Deer Wizard,” brings nearly three decades of hands-on experience working directly with whitetail deer and managed cervid herds across North America.
Josh’s career began in 1999 and has been rooted in real-world herd management; nutrition, reproduction, health protocols, and problem-solving in the field. From 2006 to 2022, he managed Red Ridge Whitetails, building it into a respected operation recognized for practical, results-driven management strategies.
Today, Josh is the founder of Fusion Animal Health, the parent organization behind Cervid Health Management (CHM)—a consulting and vaccine-development platform focused on collaborative, vet-supported herd health solutions. His work centers on preventive health programs, diagnostic-driven vaccine strategies, regulatory education, and long-term herd performance.
Josh is known for bridging the gap between producers and veterinarians, translating complex health concepts into practical, usable protocols without overstating his role relative to licensed veterinary professionals. His approach emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement through diagnostics and data.
In addition to his consulting work, Josh serves as an industry educator and media voice through The Deer Wizard brand sharing insights via photography, video, speaking engagements, and podcasts focused on herd health trends, breeding strategies, diagnostics, and regulatory updates impacting the cervid industry.
